CENTRAL HUB
The brief requested a large covered garden to act as a place of relaxation and contemplation. This space was placed at the heart of the building, so that users would pass through it during their working day. Internal and external ramps deal with circulation on three levels.
The buildings general construction is of two terraces, following the site's contours, spanned with simple bow string trusses, raised at the buildings centre. Vents and moveable shades, complimentary to the roofscape's organic from, allow light and cross ventilation to be carefully controlled, exploiting the sloping site's general South facing orientation.
