An Italian manufacturer of communication masts, sought multifunctional designs to suite urban spaces. Given that communication masts already require substantial foundations, it makes a great deal of sense to incorporate street furniture with a mast's central 'tree'. In day to day practice the greatest source of disruption occurs where street furniture hits the ground, which must be ripped open to make way for numerous environmentally unfriendly concrete foundations. These are often as ephemeral as the street furniture itself. |
