Entry in an open competition seeking outline proposals to railway carriages for The UK's rapidly expanding railway networks.

Managed Loading: Covered waiting space with seating adjacent allocated seats

With conservative estimates predicting the doubling of passenger numbers before the middle of this century, the proposal's central premis is that it is more than railway carriages that will need revising.
This cross- section shows how a greater length of platform could packed into available land, freeing the main line for more constant use.

Cross carriage corridors greatly reduce maximum distances from seat to door, for faster turn-round, while improving ratio between seating and circulation space.
Passangers enter and exit cariages from opposite corridors, further improving passenger flow.
