| Entry into an open competition to design a temporary demountable structure for a city festival. |

| An open brief called for a lightweight temporary demountable public venue for a street festival, on Midsummer Boulevard. It had to shelter visitors as they watched preformances, ate or simply gathered to meet. The key to this design centred around a single, easy to man-handle component. To be joined on the ground in pairs, these could be lifted upright in the manner of a portal, running underneath the mature trees that line the Boulevard's central reservation. |
